The Legacy Notes

Why I started this journey
My love for Indian Classical music comes from my grandfather, who, from a very young age, exposed me to a variety of styles ranging from the famous ‘khayals’, to the beautiful ‘ghazals’, ‘thumris’, ‘dadras’, ‘taranas’ and ‘bhajans’. Though two generations apart, my grandfather and I have found common ground in music, and continue to make beautiful memories together as we bridge the gap between the ancient and modern nuances of Indian classical Music. My grandfather is now 88 years old, and to this day, leaves me enraptured by his devotion and dedication to this art form.
This collection is an amalgamation of some of my grandfather’s finest possessions in music, which he has meticulously collected and composed over the course of the last five decades.
This is my humble attempt at preserving my family’s legacy, as well as the rich culture of India.
“Only when the heart and the throat are in harmony, true music flows out from the soul.”
